Its been a busy few days for award announcements. Last week saw the announcement of the shortlisted nominees for the Guild of Fine Foods Great Taste awards 2022. This week we have the shortlist for the Women in Meat Awards.
The Women In Meat Industry Awards are designed to recognise the vitally important contributions that women make to the meat sector. This unique awards initiative is driven by Meat Management reader nominations and votes, with an expert judging panel gathering to select the overall Meat Businesswoman of the Year recipient (presented to one of the other category winners).
This year we are proud that Eleanor O’Brien, our Head of Membership and Marketing has been nominated for the second year running, in the Trade Body category.
Eleanor is the key pin for administration, membership and marketing for the National Craft Butchers, and goes well beyond her own duties. As well as holding executive meetings, she also organises zoom meetings for members, and provides important updates and communicates about new legislation for key areas such as Natasha’s Law and other developments affecting retail butchers.
National Craft Butchers also celebrates their first female Executive Councilor, Sarah-Jane Trueman, of Johnsons of Thirsk, being nominated in the Craft Butchery category.
Other members of National Craft Butchers being shortlisted are:
Independent Retailing
Anna Howes – Vale & Hills Butchers
Sally Lugg – Primrose Herd
Manufacturing/Processing
Georgiana Madaras – Porky Whites
Francesca Wyatt – Porky Whites
Rising Star Award
