The TPS Story: From Butcher’s Block to Business Leader

TPS was founded in 2009 by George Murphy, whose roots in the butchery trade run deep. Starting out as a butcher in Glasgow, George went on to gain experience in supermarkets and the hotel industry, developing a keen understanding of both retail and hospitality sectors. His journey then led him into the butchers’ sundries trade, where he worked for several established companies. Over time, he amassed a wealth of industry knowledge, learning what worked, what didn’t, and what butchers truly needed from a supplier.

Eventually, George decided to forge his own path and launch a business built on personal service, trust, and innovation. TPS was born — with just three customers and a big vision. Today, TPS serves over 400 customers throughout the UK and continues to grow, thanks in large part to its customer-centric approach. The team makes it a point to speak directly with clients, understanding their needs and building real relationships. After all, TPS believes business works best when it’s personal.
